Data on Microsoft’s Courier Tablet Leaked Online

The hype surrounding Microsoft’s tablet computer Courier is intensifying following leaked information about the product’s interface. The device is thought to be Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s rumored tablet device, which is expected to resemble a large iPhone.

Tech blog Gizmodo reports that the Courier will allow users to store and organize web clippings, personal notes, drawings and photos from the product’s camera. The device is expected to allow users to ‘tuck’ items into its spine using finger gestures, in order to temporarily store them. From the spine the items can be moved to another section of the journal. The main browser holds a library which reportedly organizes every application by type with the left screen acting as a “favorites” tray to store applications.

Microsoft and Apple could provide significant competition for e-book devices such as Amazon’s Kindle and Sony’s Reader.
