Rumored displays sizes and e-book discussions…

With an event confirmed, the rumors are firing up as to what the specs are and who Apple is making deals with.
Typeboard.com has reported a 7.1-inch display ((http://www.typeboard.com/2010/01/will-the-apple-islate-beat-amazon-kindle/), but most other blogs and news sources are claiming either a more highly rumored 10-inch display or not commenting on its potential size. What makes Typeboard.com’s claim so interesting is all the other specs it lists, such as a “2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 120 GB hard drive, 2GB DDR3 Ram and a built-in projector,” the post says (see above link). Typeboard clearly states that it could possible that it is all speculation and that time will tell. Most other reports are claiming variations of these details, but they are guessing a 10-inch display. It’s true: Only time will tell.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704541004575011092145509872.html?mod=djemalertTECH) that Apple is talking with HarperCollins Publishers regarding making electronic books available for the launch of a new device. All of this is on the word of “people familiar with the situation”.
Information like this seems to confirm further that the iSlate is not only real, but ready to be unleashed. The build-up to the launch of this product will cause it to be extremely sought after, a bit like the iPhone. I wouldn’t hesitate to speculate that Apple fanatics and techno-heads will be lining up to get their touch-happy fingers on the fabled touch-screen tablet.
