Rupert Murdoch Thinks Devices like the iPad and Kindle Need Him????

rupert-murdoch-star-tv-india-program-guide-channel-guide-programme-listing-foreskin-press Rupert Murdoch believes that were it not for content from companies like News Corp , the iPad and Kindle devices would be “unloved and unsold,” according to a report Wednesday in the Sydney Morning Herald. He then goes on to say that, company’s earnings call, he said “Content isn’t just King, it’s the Emperor of all things electronic.”, if that isn’t enough he said, that referring that the iPad was “merely an empty vessel” without content. It is not “powered by batteries,” it is powered by great content.

He also mentioned that he’s working on subscription deals with device makers, as this quarter proved that consumers are willing to pay for content.

To people that think content wants to be free, Rupert replies, “It sounds like B.S. to me!”

One thing I don’t think Rupert Murdoch realizes is that the industry he’s in is tanking and it’s these “empty vessels” that might save him.

Rupert is obviously ignorant. Paper and the old form of content really is an endangered species. Good thing people from great tech companies are willing to “save” the old.

Murdoch inherited his company, thats why he doesn’t live in the same world as everyone else.

Here’s a thought. If it weren’t for content, these electronic gadgets wouldn’t do much. The iPhone would be nothing more than a phone. The iPad would be a word processor. Google would be little more than an idea. With nothing to search, um, not very exciting. No big stock success story; no subsequent media purchases. That’s right, Google knew enough to buy media companies with its profit. Why? Because Murdoch has a point. Content is a critical element of all these electronic devices at issue.

Don’t believe technology is king. Technology is a means, a vehicle. People drive the vehicle to content. And quality content will sell.

And that’s all I have to say on that.

That’s a lot of analogies, here’s some more for you: A race car driver is nothing without a race car, A popstar is not a popstar without a stage and microphone, A movie star cease to exist without a video camera. There are millions more that prove one doesn’t exist without the other. The point is that all of News Corps newspaper companies are drowning and a lifesaver has been tossed in front of them and Rupert Murduch want’s to talk about how that lifesaver wouldn’t exist unless his wrinkled body wasn’t drowning in the water beneath it. Oh, did I just pull another analogy! The thing is, I understand your point and it is well taken. My article wasn’t attacking his words just his tone of voice, he thinks that the e-readers need him more than they need him. Newspapers are drowning and e-readers are just sprouting. My thing is give credit were credit is due instead of trying to steal the glory like your the Emperor of the world, you might have a lot but you are not KING!
