The iPad is not the only Tablet that Apple’s working on!!

While the whole world was in a craze over Apple’s unveiling of the new iPad, we were all assuming that regardless of the name, they would be announcing the same device that we were expecting the iSlate to be.  When we ended up with missing features we started asking questions.  Now, we have had time to take a step back and remember the rumors about there being two tablet devices.  We have to take into account that in 2006 Apple went to a lot of trouble creating a shell company called Slate Computing, so that they could trademark the name iSlate. They also went on to secure all the top level domains for all countries, for islate.com, islate.co.uk, islate.cn. and so on, so we know they have been working on the iSlate since then.

One of the tablet devices was to have a smaller screen with less features, that directly competes with netbooks and e-readers, which is the recently released iPad.  The other full featured is a laptop replacement was to have OSX, edge to edge OLED screen, usb ports, handwriting recognition, and a webcam.  This is the device that is believed the trademark “iSlate” will be used.

This is the first time that Apple’s evasiveness and covert tactics have had a negative backlash on one of their product announcements by the media.  Normally, this tactic works for Apple, but this time it has caused nothing but confusion among consumers.  Even though the iPad looks to be a great device with over 100000 apps and has more features or functions than any other e-reader currently on the market, their stock have taken a hit because everyone was expecting this tablet to have every feature iSlate was rumored to have.

One thing needs to be remembered, it took Apple’s engineers less than 2yrs to build the iPhone from the ground up, it didn’t take them 2yrs to enlarge it??
